Dr. Sid Dobrin is Professor and Chair in the Department of English at the University of Florida, where for ten years he directed the writing program and for three years served as the Graduate Coordinator. In addition, he serves as the director of TRACE Innovation Initiative, a research endeavor developed and maintained by the University of Florida’s Department of English that works at the intersection of ecology, posthumanism, and writing studies.

He is the author and editor of numerous articles and books, including Postcomposition, which won the 2011 W. Ross Winterowd award for best book in composition theory. He is currently completing a book about the future of the world’s oceans to be published by Texas A&M University Press and is completing a co-authored book called Big Data and the Humanities, which is under review at Palgrave.
